A poem about a short story

A mortal man and an angel in-love

a bond hindered by the gods up above

A recipe for a tragic story

yet they took the risk to change history

The angel chose to live like a mortal

while he loved and adored the immortal

She spent her days in union with the man

and he cared for her the best way he can

As time passed by, arguments have started

As he began to take her for granted

She gave love though love she did not receive

she left when there was no more love to give

The mortal then realized what he did

his eyes cried while his heart starts to bleed

The man lived with pain and slept in sorrow

Hoping and praying to die tomorrow

The mortal lived trying to move on

Struggles everyday fighting to go on

His shadow is his only companion

dazed in time, living without direction

One morning, something disturbed his senses

He seemed to be hearing divine voices

He thought it was caused by some strange weather

instead what he saw was angel’s feather

The angel went down to speak to the man

she told him that she found another man

And then she left him and flew to the skies

He died instantly with tears in his eyes

      • hahaha.. waiter make that 2 thermos of coffee.. haha.. well if u noticed the first 3 verses(titles), they seem not part of the others.. thats bcoz that was a project about medical terms to be made theme for poems.. that project was a favor for my ex(who was the ‘angel’ i was talking about in the poem). then i started adding to the poem as our ‘story’ moved along.. what was supposed to be a short poem turned into a short story.. haha..
